JAMBO AFRICA

This safari introduces you to Kenya’s best national parks. You will visit Ol Pajeta conservancy the rhino and chimpanzee sanctuary. The famous rugged and semi-desert Samburu National Reserve has retained a naturally serene and quite feeling. Besides the numerous wildlife found in this game reserve, it is also a bird haven. Lake Nakuru is renowned as a bird sanctuary with over 400 bird species, including huge flocks of flamingos and many other water birds. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the best places in Africa for wildlife viewing. The world most spectacular wildebeest migration occurs during the month of July and August.


Schedule

DAY 1: SAMBURU

This morning we travel by road to Kenya’s northern frontier. Wild and rugged, Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. It is also one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy’s zebras and Beisa Oryx’s.

DAY 2:SAMBURU

Before dawn we head out in search of Africa's wild cats and other animals like reticulated giraffe, dik dik, grevy's zebra, Beisa Oryx, Grevy's zebra and blue-necked Somali ostrich. After game drive return to the lodge for breakfast and relax in the lodge, you can sunbathe and go for a refreshing dip in the uniquely designed swimming pool before heading out again on your afternoon game drive.

DAY 3: SWEETWATERS

This morning we depart Samburu and proceed south, driving through the quintessential town of Isiolo to Sweetwaters Tented Camp. We visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens!

In fact Sweetwaters boasts excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game to area of any park or reserve in Kenya. Moreover, the camp has its own private waterhole and saltlick so we’ll be guaranteed unprecedented close encounters. Whether its day or night game drives, camel trekking, lion tracking, dining or relaxing by pool, Sweetwaters is bound to delight.

DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU

Today we travel to the exotic Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley. After lunch an exciting game run is planned for the afternoon. The game in this park is plentiful and the magnificent bird watching will make a devotee out of even the most reluctant. The Park is a home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lakeshores in to a magnificent pink stretch.

The bird life here is world renown and over 400 birds’s species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the white Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe.

DAY 5: MASAI MARA

This morning we drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino.

Lunch at our Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game drive. The Mara Game Reserve —one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied, and easy to see.

DAY 6 AND 7: MASAI MARA

You may spend the entire day exploring the park after breakfast with packed picnic lunch or enjoy the usual early morning and late afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya's most famous park with an extraordinary density of animals, including all the Big Five. In July - October, it's also the scene of the great annual Migration, when hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, plus smaller numbers of zebra and antelope, arrive in search of fresh grazing from Tanzania's Serengeti National park in the south. The predators follow the herds, so this is the best time to witness plenty of animal action, especially if you get the opportunity to see the wildebeest cross the Mara River, where they have to dodge crocodiles, too. Return to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8: DEPARTURE

After a final early morning game drive, you'll head back to Nairobi, a long and easy drive. Transfer to the airport for your outbound flight, already fondly recalling the trip of a lifetime.
